As you reach out, I understand the tremendous courage it can take to take the first step to prioritising your Psychological, Emotional and Well-being needs. As we first connect via this platform, I would like to offer you some comfort and reassurance. Firstly, I believe in a service that heavily focuses on the therapeutic relationship, that offers a non judgemental, empathetic and congruent way of working. That means, I prioritise ensuring you feel safe, comfortable and where no judgements are made. Secondly, I realise that we all come from different backgrounds, beliefs and values and I equally respect everyone who walks into my therapy room. Thirdly, I understand that as humans we all live through emotional experiences that at times become overwhelming, unclear or can cause us distress. Sometimes, life events can cause us to lose focus, impact on our ability to fully function and even cause trauma.

Seeking help when we find ourselves vulnerable, is a human response that we all need at certain times throughout our lives. Thus, part of being human means we are social creatures that require connection, and at times rely on others to provide us with support. You may be feeling that reaching out for support is a weakness, but from experience I recognise that reaching out is a strength that shows healthy resilience as you are seen to be increasing your support structures around you. Some of you may be reading this and thinking that you already have family and friends that provide a strong support network. However, our family and friends can be too closely connected for us to fully open up. For example, we can find ourselves suppressing our feelings as we may feel a burden on those we love, and we might avoid expressing our feelings as we worry this will cause stress to the ones we love. Alternatively, they can be part of the problem we face, or they can have a biased judgement which is unhelpful.

Thus, as a trained Counsellor and Psychotherapist I have the Psychological knowledge to help you help yourself, but more importantly I set no expectations nor do I hold any judgement on your life. I welcome you into therapy as a human being and as an equal. I do not believe in holding the power imbalance of the therapeutic relationship, but will often view you as the expert of your own life and experiencing. Therefore, I aim to offer a Counselling and Psychotherapy service that provides this essential need, whilst providing a confidential and safe space to work our way through the fog. This can develop deeper awareness and help you to process emotions. This new clarity and understanding can help you develop new meanings and provide you with solutions to help develop positive mental health.

Throughout this therapeutic process, emotional and cognitive experiences can shift to provide positive outcomes and help you feel transformed. I work from several theoretical modalities and will individualise therapy to meet your Psychological, emotional and well-being needs.
